A blog post while I avoid finishing my late strip - some neat stories.
Pissed. My entry got erased. Time to say it again. Mangs. Okay, first this strip is cool. It’s by Jamie Dee Galey, the first artist for Filth Hole, which at its start was hilarious. Now defunct, but check it out nonetheless. NSFW btw.
The strip reminds me of my friend Chris who is always being confronted when he walks down the street, for no apparent reason. I think it is because Chris is of a liminal size to these dudes he passes, and they don’t know if they should fight or flight. I think it’s because he’s small-ish but compact.
Next. I think this story, by Jamie’s son I believe?, is so sweet. It’s almost like a recursive story that never ends (”A boy woke up and decided to write down his dream. It went like this: ‘A boy woke up and decided to write down his dream. It went like this: ”A boy woke up and decided to write down his dream…””).

After googling liminal I’m no closer to understanding what it means. Anyways that is a funny comic. I’m also not sure about how I feel about being described as smallish and compact. I think though people approach me on the street because I look like an easy target!

I was thinking of liminal as something like “between two states.” I imagine these people can’t make up their minds as to whether they’re threatened by you or not. I imagine it’s that very uncertainty that makes them confront you. The uncertainty scares them.
Smallish–by that I meant you’re average height like me!

I cannot wait until Xochitl makes up funny sweet weird shit like that live journal entry. On a related note, I was walking up and down a hall of the English building the other day waiting for a meeting to begin, and I saw a note tacked to the door of the prof who was going to be running the meeting. The note was obviously penned by his kid cause all the words were spelled phonetically and the letters were circles and sticks the way kids write you know, and it said something like “Where do your thoughts go when your brain is asleep?” that’s not exactly right; it was actually much cooler and weirder but i can’t remember.
